If we spoke to an accountant and showed them the figures to manufacture in the UK Vs China, they would more than likely recommend that we chose the latter to manufacture our products. Those little beady eyes would pop out of their eye-sockets when we say … no way Jose! I can see the look of disbelief / pity on their faces now, wondering why on earth we would not want to save a huge percentage to either add to our profit margin or lower the Recommended Retail Price to the consumer.
 
Made in the UK not only gives us that lovely brand value, appreciated by many, but it has also opened many doors which would have been closed or opportunity lost should we ‘buy in’ from oversees. Number one is response and total control. If we have a 1000+ orders, this can be on retailer’s shelves in a maximum of four weeks. A container from China could take up to three months! So why don’t we get our act together and forecast / plan better so we can catch that cheaper unit price? Well, we are blaming trends for that one… Our T-shirt designs are dictated by trends, and trends change like wild fire. My gosh, January was all about our Space themed range and thanks to the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie you can’t get enough of our Pirate Colour In T-shirt!
 
As we design our range here, as well as print to order, if we spot a trend it will only take us a matter of hours to come up with a design to reflect the theme. Say hello to our new Flamingo and Cactus design … watch this space as the world is about to go nutty for this BIG summer trend!
 
All this would not be possible if we have our apparel made, printed and packaged overseas!
